Blueprint Touch competition

Welcome to the fifth annual Blueprint Touch competition, running from Wednesday 6 May until Friday 19 June 2009! Games will take place on Wednesday nights, followed by BBQ and drinks.

What is Touch?
Teams of six players and substitutes play on a field half the size of a traditional rugby field. A game lasts 30 mins and the aim is to score as many tries as possible. Touch is the ultimate summer sport as it not only increases fitness and agility but it enables people of all ages and both sexes to meet socially and have fun.

Who will be playing?
Teams from the EU institutions, business and sporting clubs including the European Commission, European Parliament, Fulcra, BBRFC, RETRAK Tigers, Eurocity, Blueprint and many others.

If you do not have a team but would like to play, please contact us and we will ensure you are allocated to a fun and challenging team for the competition.

Profits go to charity
The 2009 profits will again be donated to RETRAK, a charity for street children in Kampala, Uganda and to Ecole Chanterelle, a school for disabled children in Brussels.

How does the tournament work?

To keep the tournament fun, competitive and involving for all, two group stages precede the finals. The first group stage separates teams by level of ability (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th). Teams of a similar standard then compete amongst one another in the next phase, before the fun of finals begins. The best bit is – there’s more than one winner! This year Touch Belgium will provide a player/coach to each team and all the games will be overseen by qualified touch referees.

Opening night: Wednesday 6 May, 7.00 pm
The touch draw and training session will kick off the season on 6 May, at 7.00pm. The traditional BBQ and drinks will follow.

This year’s competition will be held in association with the Touch Belgium.

How to get there:

From the city centre of Brussels drive to the ring in the direction of Luxembourg

Follow the sign E-411 (Luxembourg, Namen)

Exit at junction 2 (Overijse, Jezus-Eik, Hoeilaart)

Follow Kersenbomenstraat as if you enter the highway again

Turn right (50 m) to Hoeilaart -Vuurgatstraat

4th streetturn left - Esdoornenlaan

1st to the right - Vlierbeekberg

Follow Vlierbeekberg for ca 2.5 km (parallel to the highway) and take 3rd to the left = Nieuwland

Follow Nieuwland untill the end (steep way down) and cross the road onto Jozef Kumpstraat

You are parallel to the highway again and will find the Hockey/Tennisclub after ca. 1.5 km on your right
